Here are three examples of how we help different companies with their financial and accounting issues.

Case study 1

“R” is a tailor who came to us for help with her company accounting which she knew she needed to get done but had no idea where to start.

We took all of the invoices, receipts, bank statements etc and brought the accounts up to date in QuickBooks. By ensuring that the costs relating to each client’s clothes were classified by client, “R” can ensure she is actually making the profit on each assignment that she expects to.

Monthly accounts, VAT and credit control are all dealt with, leaving “R” to grow the business knowing that the finances are in good hands.

Case study 2

“B” is a recruitment agency making permanent placements and running a temporary-staff business as well.

The temporary business operates weekly – if there are twelve temps out working then there have to be twelve costs and twelve sales that week and the profit margin on each must be correct.

The permanent placement business runs on longer timescales.

We visit “B” each month to do the bookkeeping and make sure that in the management accounts the two businesses can be seen separately and understood properly.

We advise on profit extraction so the owner/manager keeps the company properly funded and doesn’t pay more tax than necessary on earnings from “B”.

Case study 3

“M” is a long-established business which provides marketing services to international clients.

They have an accounts team of two and we help by acting as a bridge between the accounts team and the board. We give Finance Director input to ensure “M” has a strong finance function to support rapid growth in the UK and abroad.

If either of the accountants leaves we help with recruitment and training and we also provide staff to cover any gaps, which means “M” can take time to find the right person without suffering from a lack of resources.
